A representative from BEA attended the 12th International Conference on Culture Collections
A representative from BEA (Dr. Paulo S. Salomon), attended the 12th International Conference on Culture Collections, held in Florianópolis, Brazil, from September 26th to October 1st 2010. This conference is organized every second year by the World Federation for Culture Collection (WFCC) and brings together hundreds of scientists, companies and other professionals working at or connected to BRCs. The 2010 meeting theme was "Biological Resource Centers: gateway to biodiversity and services for innovation in biotechnology. Dr. Salomon presented a poster and held an oral presentation "Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorting (FACS) as a Tool for Rapid Establishment of Clonal Microalgal Cultures at the National Bank of Algae, Canary Islands, Spain" in the section "Microbial Resource Centers: Preservation and Characterization Techniques".
